Basically Bare and Nikki Sivils Day Two!

We are starting the Day Two blog swap with Basically Bare and the Divas have knocked it out of the blogosphere again.  In case you missed Day One go back and check it out!  Basically Bare not only has unique and fun mini books to alter, but they have bare chipboard, canvas, arcrylic, and cardboard embellishments to make your own to match your layouts with the paper collection you are working with!

We will also be having a giveaway, but you will have to comment here on the blog and also over at Basically Bare's blog.  Their designers have created some FUN FUN FUN stuff and I can't wait for you to see it!  But, let's look at what the Divas created first!

Julie Tucker-Wolek created a cute little address book out of a Basically Bare mini album!  She is planning on adding some things to it, once she starts putting names and addresses in.  She used the Messages collection and I would say it's a great combo!

(Be sure to check out Julie's blog, because she will have the full address book on there!)

Jennie McGarvey worked her magic on a layout using the Basically Bare Gears in Acrylic form. These are perfect if you want embellishments, but still want to keep the focus on your pictures.  She used the Noah collection for her layout also.

I knew as soon as I saw those gear acrylic shapes that I wanted to use them.  This page turned out to be the perfect page because they add enough to make the page more interesting, but they are definitely not over powering at all.  The focus is on the photos, which is where I like it to be!

Stacy Rodriguez used the Messages collection for this layout below...there is a story behind every layout and this one is no exception!

So I was soooooo excited last year since it was my first trip to CHA....not only was it my first time look at the two super cool divas I got to meet!!!  How much fun is that, and now scrapping it about with Nikki's line was simply perfect!  For this layout I used Messages, I thought the colors were an excellent fit for this layout.  The fabulous design on this one is from Sketch Support. I created the fun little banner under the photos using a scallop circle punch and then cut them in half.  I however wanted a little something different in the banner so I used Blossoms from Basically Bare.  So many fun possibilities with this line!!

Melissa Pablo and Jennie were thinking along the same lines!  Using the Gears and the Noah collection, Melissa created a fun and funky layout about her boy, Justin!

Marielle LeBlanc just got back from Disney, so Exit Here was a perfect collection for her to create a mini album about their trip.  Here is the cover page and I am in love with it.  Marielle will have the entire album on her blog today, so make sure and give her a visit!

Did you get some ideas?  Are you wanting to get your hands on some Basically Bare and Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker goodies?  Well, we can help you with the Nikki Sivils, Scrapbooker part!  Leave a comment below and we will draw one winner for a collection kit of your choosing. Basically Bare has a giveaway on their post also! Be sure to comment on yesterday's post, because we have a separate giveaway on that day also!

We are Blog Swapping with Basically Bare! Day One!

Do you like embellishments?  Do you like to "create your own" using a bare base?  Well, we are starting a two day blog swap with Basically Bare today and that is just what the Divas are going to show you!

Laurel Seabrook used the Messages collection to make a journal from one of the mini books the girls were sent.  Here is Laurel to tell you about it.....

Hi everyone, Laurel here.  I am so excited to bring you my Basically Bare project today.  I loved this mixed album as soon as I saw it in my package and couldn't wait to use it.  I decided to make a Gratitude Journal and have left lots of space for adding photos I take, lots of journaling and I love the few envelopes for holding memorabilia or more photos.  I had a lot of fun creating this, I used lots of stamps and Cricut cuts and for adhering the items to the pages I have used the Beacon 3 in 1 Glue.

(Laurel has more pictures of her complete album on her blog)

Jodi Wilton created this CUTE altered frame project that I want her to send me!  I love how the two collections mixed perfectly! Let's hear from Jodi......

I used the six of the chipboard Hearts from to create a home decor project! The hearts were perfect because they were nice and thick, which added a lot of dimension to the project! I covered the hearts with EXIT HERE and AUDREY collections, and added the hot air balloon to tie in the title.

I (Katrina) made this layout about my first trip to CHA using the Audrey collection.  I will have close ups of the dress and heart on my blog.

The girly collection was perfect for the dress form and wings!  I also used a canvas heart and some of the chipboard blossoms to accent my picture.  Double bonus is that that cluster also holds my layout title!  BTW, Suzy is glowing..I am sweating!  July in downtown Chicago during the heatwave last year!

Deana Boston had fun creating with the Basically Bare Celestial Shapes set using the sun and clouds for her layout about a flat tire!!  She used the Noah collection for her layout.

Deana added sequins to her sun and wrapped twine around the felt clouds!

Melanie Jarocki created a couple of cute and fun cards using Audrey and Noah.

Sarah Eclavea has done a fun little mini with the Exit Here collection.  Here are a few of the pages from it.

Basically Bare has a giveaway on their blog also, so be sure to comment on BOTH blogs!! And comment on tomorrow's post, because we will have a giveaway there too!

Thursdays with Laurel!

Hi everyone!  Laurel is with us today sharing four gorgeous projects!

"Hi everyone, Laurel here with a variety of projects for you.  I have some layouts, altered art and cards all in one post and something from each of our new Collections!  I hope you enjoy them!
I went garage saleing one weekend and picked up  this wooden rolling pin and basket for next to nothing.  I then saw this plate at a thrift shop and new exactly what I was going to do!  On the way home I picked up the strawberry plant.  I then base coated the rolling pin and covered it with some Audrey paper, made a card to match, stamped on a napkin and voila.  In one afternoon, I had made a nice little 'get well berry soon' basket, wouldn't you love to receive something like this along with some fresh strawberries when you weren't feeling well.
The pearls on the card are from Want2Scrap." ~~Laurel
"Next up I have a couple of layouts for you.  I have used sketches from Alison Davis new Sketchbook.  I love her sketches and had a lot of fun doing these layouts." ~~Laurel

(Laurel used Noah and Exit Here on her layouts!)
"Finally, a card using the Messages collection.  I used my Cricut to cut out the flowers and then I just rolled them up." ~~Laurel
Laurel also made a layout using the Messages collection!
Thanks to Laurel for sharing such beautiful projects with us today and thanks to all of you for stopping by today!

Fourth Wednesday with Stacy Rodriguez!

Stacy is usually on the third Wednesday, but we had to do some shifting of the schedule, so she is taking over the blog today instead!

So how about we mix it up!! Now that being said I NEVER mix lines..I don't know why I just can't do it.  So I said ok i'll give it a try (thinking the entire time...OMG I can't do this!!)  So I was flipping through my Sketch Support book and found this layout that I really liked, then tought to myself i'm going to turn this into a card.  On this card you will see bits of all of NIkki's new lines in the banners on the right side.  The clear heart on the front of the card came from Basically Bare's Lovely Locket Set.  I'm very happy with how my MIX project turned out, but i'm sure it will be awhile before it do that one again

Such a cute card from Stacy and I loved that she mixed it up!  Be sure to visit Stacy's blog also!

It's Tuesday and It's Katrina!

It is my turn today on the blog and I have a variety of projects to share with you today!  All of them have multiple pictures on a one page layout.

I have a special spot for Messages, since it was the first collection from Winter CHA that I worked with.  And it was perfect for these pictures I had taken in the fall.

I used my Silhouette to cut that fun, retro tree out!

And another Messages layout of Ella!  She loves to hang over the couch!

But the Exit Here collection is my favorite of this past release!  I have to make myself NOT grab for it when I go to work on projects!  I loved that I captured this picture, it's all about the timing!

At the bottom, this area just need a little something, so I trimmed one of the cut-ups down and just used the cameras!

That is it from me today.  I hope you will come back tomorrow, Stacy Rodriguez will be up here on the blog and she always has some fun stuff!  And if you feel like visiting my blog, you can find me here!
